In the end, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey were picked out of a pool of many other names and personalities. One play had given the dwarfs the names Blick, Flick, Glick, Snick, Flick, Whick and Quee, but Walt wanted his dwarfs' names to fit their personalities.
